Sons Of Repose
Gun metal blue
and polished brass
combine into darkest red
Fertile is the field
of battles past
where the sons of repose
have bled
While steel and fire
devour the night
and blacken the
hearts of men
No Man's Land
is a futile fight
to be waged
again and again
The games of youth
hold such lies,
as death mingles with mud
The realities of war
are nothing more,
than lies, death and blood
Glory is a story,
with no mention of lead
and tears upon the sleeve
Romance dwells not,
in the eyes of the dead,
as their light forever leaves
Incompetence commands
that only cowards would stay
in the luxury of their hole
Truth has a stench
that may never depart,
as it permeates through
to the soul
And images can speak
much louder than words,
as they paint the
truth to perfection
For, the truth
is painted in red
and denies the lie's
protection
