Duality of Me

This halo's getting heavy,
angelic wings are turning black,
my angel's getting tired,
my demon's picking up the slack,
what is good wanes with the sun,
I don't feel it's coming back.

Lucid thoughts turn carnal,
desires wicked and irate,
feral claws rend my spirit,
this lunar glow has changed my fate,
I fight to stay my sanity,
once again I've fought too late.

The savage breathing,
the brutal joy,
ferociously seething,
towards my fleshy toys.
I rend, and I slash,
there's no need to play coy,
I kill and I maim,
man, girl, and boy.

Awaken sustained,
in a pool of blood,
inhibitions were broken,
left behind in the mud.

The bloodlust subsided,
I've paid the demon his fee,
salty tears ripple crimson,
as far as I can see,
sobbing in to my hands,
shaking too badly to flee,
oh how I loathe and I hate,
the duality of me.
