Beauty
Beauty
is just
such
a delicate
little thing
Like the wings
of a butterfly
Fragile and all
painted and powdered up
But,
something
always hides
behind such beauty
Covered up and hidden
from view
And,
it is so easy
to pluck those
pretty little wings
and watch as the
beautiful butterfly
is exposed to have been
an ugly little caterpillar
all along
by grunty

Agree - well mostly. There is another beauty that is hard as diamond, deep, untouchable and solid - the opposite of what we see in the glossy magazines...in this scheme a worm is more beautiful than a panda because it is more useful.
Maybe that fragile kind of beauty is deliberately ephemeral and we should seek more for the rocky kind that comes with the lifetime warranty.

That's why i prefer moths, take the Cecropia moth for example.

I love the meaning of this poem, it was well thought out. Lovely Grunty!
The first layer of Beauty can pill right off, and show nothing but an infestation of infection... sad really..
