It was my old school courtyard in the fall, sprinkled with yellow and orange leaves on the concrete.
I remembered how my friends and I would run and kick up the leaves,
and oh how I missed them. They all sat with me
by my side the whole time.
Even as I felt myself floating away,
I can still hear my mother’s sobs,
feel my brother’s tears falling down onto my cold, hard cheeks,
and hear doctors saying they would do everything in their power to revive me.
Right there was the worst part of this whole experience.
I saw all of my loved ones faces fading away, their tears solidifying on their depressed cheeks.
I lay down in a pile of leaves to my left, trying to block those terrifying memories from getting back into my head, and
I started to fade
off into a world something like heaven.
I felt my heart
take a sudden jolt
and at that instant I gasped for air.
Do dead people breathe?
“ We’ve brought her back!”
I heard Dr. Humm shout.
The small hospital around me suddenly broke into thunderous applause.
Family, friends, and even a nurse come to embrace me...
