Time Machine

A little boy built a Time Machine.
He saw the dinosaurs,
The cavemen,
And the whole of the world's History.

But when he went into the future,
It was bleak,
Dark,
And grey.

No one smiled,
No one laughed.
No one trusted.

"Whats all this?" he asked.
"Why's it so sad?"
"This is the future you're all supposed to be glad
and flying round in hoverships,
without a care in the world."

An old man answered "Son,
the world is far to cruel a place
to live without care.
Show everyone you ever meet love.
And maybe you can make your future brighter,
With a smile :)"

So the boy went back to his time,
And did just what the old man said.
He smiled to all he saw on the street.
He donated to charities,
He did everything nice he could.

Then one day, many years later
he looked at his old time machine.
He picked up the cardboard box
And smiled.
