This Smile

Swinging on a tick-tock
I make a loop around a lie
these things I think I see
it seems
are nothing.
but goodbyes.
I work my legs,
run jump
and hide
but truly I feel that I'm
crying inside
like a little child
and with each passing moment I
widen my smile
cuz... for awhile
it might soothe my needs
and make
me think I'm happy.
it might take my pain
and convince me I'm insane.
Just the smile I wear,
might take you there in a second...

I'm alright
so see me... and tell me you love me
use those words that you spit
oh so simply
then kiss me its time now
goodbye now. I guess,
and goodnight.
