This Country, My Country

This country, my country
Stands tall in the name of freedom,
It will lend you the stars
And loan you its stripes
All in the name of his kingdom.

This country, my country
Extends both tall and wide,
Should you need a helping hand
Millions will fall upon your land
Gladly shielding you with honor and pride.

This country, my country
will shed a tear forever more,
Men cried, died, and sacrificed
their blood upon land and shore.
Families torn from one another
With lost loves that made them stable,
Lives extinguished for a noble cause,
but regretfully a fatherless cradle.

This country, my country
We salute our saints now slain,
We honor our brave
Paying thanks to those who gave,
Their lives were not lost in vein.
