The Nightingale Wish

in the darkness i stand,
unlit candle in my hand,

as the match flicks,
i make my heart's wish,

i hold my head high,
with two words whispered to the sky,

then four more,
and my sould begins to soar,

can you guess what i said,
a heart's wish written in bed?

i believe the first two,
and the last four... i forever love you,

then i take my finger to trace the sky,
i pick a bright star to make mine,

i speak in a whisper to the star,
i pray it can hear me when its so far,

"star light star bright,
please grant me my love tonight,

i wish i may i wish i might,
have him again in my arms tonight,

little star hear me please,
he is the one i love, the one i need,

let him know i'm sorry for the pain,
i'm the cause and i'm truely sorry all the same,

let him know i cry these tears in my shame,
if i could i'd take it all away,

please little beakon of light,
please make everything alright,

please let him forgive my flaws,
and forgive me even though i'm the cause,

please let him come home to this broken heart of mine,
please let him know that for him i cry,

please little stars,

i wipe away,
one tear and pray,

two last thoughts in the night,
i'm so sorry... come home soon some night....
