Temporary Love

im wondering why you did that
why you felt it nessecary to go ahead and just ignore me
now going on four years sence i've known you and this is the kind of fuckin treatment i get
after all the years wondering what could of been
this is how it ends up
i told you you were my first love
and i get the door slammed in my face
ok i get it
your in love with the girl of your dreams
i understand that
now, sitting here writing this poem
im thinking to myself what did i love about you
was it the way you looked at me from across the way
or the way you would come up behind me and hold me close
it was all of it
everything you did
everything you said
made me fall in love with you
you liked me when i didnt wear makeup
you liked me knowing that my parents were crazy
you liked me for me and thats what really mattered
gathering my thoughts together really made me realize
that it was only temporary love
that maybe i thought i was in love with you
because i missed you so much
because i missed how everything use to be
but i know for sure it was only temporary love
and if this is who you really are now
i cant love someone like that
i cant say im sad to see you go...
