She saw them beat him to the ground,
She just ignored it,
She made no sound,
She noticed the tears hidden within his eyes,
She saw his forced smile,
She saw through his disguise,
They used to be best buddies a lifetime ago,
Before she made more friends,
And had to let him go,
She saw the blue and purple bruises,
His black eyes,
And heard his faux excuses,
But never did she feel the need to step in,
She shrugged it off as nothing,
But she knew it was wrong deep within,
But one day it went way to far,
She was out side the school gate,
When she saw them hit him with their car,
The grief and remorse struck her hard,
Forever she was stuck with guilt,
Forever she was scarred,
To the funeral she sobbed out her heavy heart,
She wore black to match her mood,
For she knew they now would forever be apart,
At school as she sat, now alone,
It occurred to her that we are all playing apart in this sick game,
Just some will suffer by being different,
And some will hide by being the same.
