Set Me Free
I'm not really old,
But I am wise.
Been around the block,
Look in my eyes.
I give good advice,
But I don't always take it.
Say it's all good,
But I just fake it!
Keep living this lie,
I can't even cry.
I want to leave,
But afraid to try.
Why do I stay?
What keeps me here?
Stuck in this rut,
Year after endless year.
You've made me sick,
Messed up my mind,
I'm lost in it,
Myself I can't find.
Got to get out of here,
Got to clear my head.
If I stay here,
I'm better off dead.
Not a bad person,
I've lots to give.
I can't be with you,
I want to live!
My love has died,
I can't even grieve.
Just let me go,
I've got to leave.
Start a new life,
No longer a wife.
Going to live happy,
With no more strife.
I wish you happiness,
Just not with me.
We're not good together,
So set me free!
