Our Last Day

I look into your eyes as you look into mine
We hold each other as our heart beats pace with the time
Everything freezes like a block of ice
Time continuously speeding up like a tape on fast forward
Tears gather in my eyes like an ocean being filled
As your hands serve as my tissue, you gently wipe them away
I look up at you, mesmerized in your eyes
Then I realize you are beginning to cry
Silent tears in the cool of the night
I wished so badly that I could prevent the pain of separation
Feeling like bullet wounds are forming in our hearts
Bullets being the time
With each minute a bullet rips a vessel from our hearts
As time closes in our hearts begin to feel like a claustrophobic stuck in a secluded room
We wanted a way out, a way to avoid feeling this hurt
Before we could come to a conclusion, everything turned to an elusion and it was time for us to part
I kissed you slowly
You kissed me too
Then just like that I was gone from you
Now I sit and play our time spent together like a CD on repeat
Reminiscing about our last day together…
