My Poem

I've only written poems
Inspired from a broken heart
Only beginning to write
When we first fell apart

I've never written before
When I was with you
Because you were my poem
That I always construed

You were like a new poem
Everyday I spent with you
God's beautiful creation
Love so pure and true

But I don’t hate you at all
For letting me go
These poems are only words
To let my feelings show

Because now that you're gone
My feelings were kept inside of me
No one here to release them
Only poems set them free

I write of how love was like
When we use to be together
What we were going to be and not
Together forever, and now never

But my heart can't always be lonely
I hope to never write again
Because maybe I'll find my new poem
With a love to last til the end

I'll still write friendship poems
Inspirational and funny ones too
But while my heart is still broken
Broken heart poems I'll still do
