My Baby Brothers Dead

my mommies belly is getting big, i think there is something inside,
she told my daddy we were expecting company and then they both cried,
now she's painting and cleaning house, busy as she can be,
and lately,"big sister" is the name she's been calling me,
i hope that she's ok, she sure goes to the doctor alot,
she ask daddy if she's getting fat, and he tells her that she's not,
today she said i have a baby brother on the way,
and that i have to help take care of him, and teach him how to play,
its been a while now and no baby yet,
i hope that he's still coming, i hope he didnt forget,
mommy bought me a new shirt its says,"Im the big sis"
I cant wait to meet my new brother and give him a real big kiss,
mom says that its time and my brothers on his way,
Ill finally get to meet my new brother today,
His room is all ready, all pretty and neat,
mommy even bought little bitty socks to cover up his feet,
mommy is at the doctor she'll be here any minute,
just a few moments and that bed will have my baby brother in it,
headlights coming up the drive, my heart just hits the floor,
I see my mommy and she's not fat anymore,
mom comes in the house and gives me a great big hug,
gives me a big kiss, and holds me really snug,
her eyes are filled with tears as daddy offers her a smile,
i ask where my baby brother is, will he be here in a while,
mommy closes her eyes, her voice begins to crack,
she explains that my brother has gone away and wont be coming back,
the doctors tried to save him, but there was nothing they could do,
i didnt want to believe it, it just cant be true,
mommy starts to cry and then heads off to bed,
my baby brothers not coming home, cause my baby brothers dead....
