My Angel

You came into my life sent from above,
You flew down from heaven like a pure white dove.
Swept me off my feet took me for a ride,
I thought I was dreamin, even wondered if I had died.

Floating high above the clouds so free,
This is exactly who I wanted to be.
A smile on my face permanently made,
This feeling I new I would never trade.

We started to fall for each other, I thought it would last,
Now all I see is flashes from the past.
I'm still in love with you but you are not with me,
I wish it was something that I could see.

You told me you loved me I told you the same,
I thought one day I would end up with your last name.
My hearts becoming weak I don't know what to do,
All the harsh words you've said are sticking like glue.

My dreams are shattered thrown away for good,
I don’t want to do things I never thought I would.
I need to let you go, let you fly free,
But what am I supposed to do when suddenly I can’t breathe?

I don’t know if I’ll ever find someone quite like you,
Or if I’ll ever be able to really make it thru.
But I’ll remember the good times, I’ll keep them close to heart,
And I’ll always think back to how things were at the very start.
