Medicine for the Week

I don't seem to know what it is I'm supposed to do,
My life is breaking and I could never figure out what's true,
For the moment this will break me down,
I'm headed towards the edge going towards the outskirts of town,
When I get where I'm going I'll find out where I am,
But until that moment comes I'll look for the sun,
Dreams are like medicine for the sickness in my mind,
Covering up a thousand dead worriers with a thousand shallow lies,
Flashing light melodies and laser tag battlefields,
Cause the love to fade and my mind to yield,
The lightning bolts invoke a feeling of disgrace,
One day I will make it out of this race,
I just may not make it out alive.

One person can change the world or so I hear them say,
Maybe this isn't my year and I'm sure it's not my day,
Like the river flowing from the fragments of a broken heart,
Like reality breaking down I'll make my broken start,
This isn't fair to me I just need a happy place,
I need a happy moment for this unhappy life.

My burial site is getting closer and it feels like death on wheels,
Coming towards the cemetery I feel,
There's a line on the horizon just waiting to be found,
There's a man lying on his back in the sewer by my house,
He looks just like me,
But a little more complete,
There's a dead man walking with his hands behind his back,
Trying to apologize for the things he's always lacked,
Now it's time to let us go,
I hope someone will come with me,
