Marie

I dreamed once of a summers day
On beds of flowers we did lay
Watching as clouds floated by
Upon your face, I’d look and sigh
Finally I knew paradise
A bliss that you have shown me thrice
But thrice and only thrice I’d see
A real love for you and me

Yet again fate must play its tricks
Not with words, but bones and sticks
All was over once thrice was done
You’re in love with another one
Again there is a tragic scene
Where I upon myself must lean
I’ll cry to sand and skies above
That you will always be my love

To forget fills me with sorrow
Leaves my soul so lone and hollow
Yet, from your love I’ll never shy
But this could be my last good bye
I’m sorry that I’ve caused you hell
I wish my love had made it well
But my own love as it would seem
Is not what makes your smile gleam

I hope a happy life you lead
And these next words you should heed
I wish that it could have been me
But something’s just aren’t meant to be

That was truly, truly beautiful. She doesn't know what she gave up. (:
