Lover's Comfort

Drips of melting ice
Begin to fall like drips of glass
My heart beating for you
As it always has in the past.

I hear your words
Smooth and cool like snow
Your emotion beginning to reverse
Into what we both feel and know.

When you left me
I was cut deep
But I held inside

Though my heart still aches
