Listen to the Rain
Listen to that rain it's pouring like the days and the buckets of empty feelings just wash away the pain of smiling when looking back at the realizations and discoveries we've made I wish that I could find the way to what we used to say well the waterfall of cloudy days and the rippling of the tide reflected back your picture like the dress you wore to our funeral where we laid down the roses and said our vows goodbye listen to that rain cleaning off the windows and cleaning out our eyes the calls left on my phone still bear your name your answering machine makes me cry as I hear you talk to me so I'll avoid your memory though it's plaguing me like heck and if I have one last request it'd be would you listen to that rain while it pounds down on your window and tell me to my face that you don't think of me oh would you listen to the rain as the clouds cry over us there's fairy tale endings and there's ignoring what is fate if only you had eyes to see that you really shouldn't think just listen to the rain and tell me what it says
