If Only I Could
When I'm with you
The grass is greener
The stars more defined
Flowers bloom in your presence
and wilt when you pass
I can taste the water in the air
Then the warm rain falls
I give you my poncho
and apologize when it doesn't help much
and soon we are both soaked
then I grab your hand
and the world melts away
as if the rain had washed it away
washed away what did not matter
and left us here.
Locked in an embrace of true love
well, one of us
