If My Love
If my love were a flower
It would blossom and bloom
Brighten your world
And fight off the gloom
If my love were a goblet
From it you would drink
Never ending nourishment
Filling up to the brink
If my love were a banquet
From it you would feast
Food so rich and inviting
Steamed fruits and roast beasts
If my love were a story
One oh so pure and true
One that would never end
One devoted to you
If my love were a song
Oh how it would make you dance
Then i'd write you another one
If I had the chance
But my love isn't a goblet or banquet
Or a flower the blooms
All that it brings
To my world is doom
And my love is not a story
Or even a song
I hate it, it's destroys me
It's oh, so wroong
My love is useless
As you do not see
Anything other
Than a good friend in me
You are oblivious
And devoted to another
And i'd give my life
For one special moment together
But she is your love
I know this is true
But I can see
She will only hurt you
I will not complain
Or devote my time to you
Because now I have to learn
How to stop loving you
