I Miss You

I remember the days when everything was perfect
It was the happiest I’ve been; I didn’t want it to end
But feelings changed and I lost faith
I had to end it, even though I still loved you
The days after were hard; I cried myself to sleep
I hated you but missed you too
Now I sit here thinking back memories
Of sitting in your arms with butterflies in my stomach
It brings me to tears to remember those days
You’ve obviously moved on, I wish I could say the same
I miss having someone to tell me they love me
I miss the hugs that made me feel special
You were the one who got me through the day
But now I haven’t even got a reason to wake up in the morning
It kills me to see you with your new girlfriend
But I don’t think you realise how much it hurts
I tell myself it was for the best
But sometimes even I don’t believe that
And I know I have to move on, but it’s hard
When I’m alone I still think about you
And sometimes I can’t help but
Just let the tears roll down my cheeks
