I Miss

I miss the days when life was simple.
Running and jumping in puddles,
My hair in braids.
No responsibilities, not a care in the world.
Dreaming amazing dreams,
Impatience for the future.
Waking up every morning, happy.
Now I sit next to the window watching the rain.
My hair down, hiding the sadness in my eyes.
All the pressure in the world bearing down on me.
Dreams faded away with my future.
Waking up drenched in my tears.
I lost my happiness a long time ago.
No joy, no faith, no belief that there is a future.
Being swallowed by the darkness within myself.
