I won't be your Shadow

It's been so hard to lock your door,
I don't think I can do this anymore.
I miss the mornings and good nights,
the endless laughs and long lasting fights.
It's so hard to be your friend
because our memories never end.
I wish I wasn't so far away,
because then we could always stay.
I know you said you would wait,
but how much of this can you take?
I can't take away your could be,
Even if what I do hurts me.
I love you so I should do whats best,
And put our relationship back to rest.
That's why I will let you go,
So I won't dim the light that you show.
