I'll Wait Forever

She drew a line
upon the ground
I cannot pass it
so I frown

I gain some courage
I build some steam
I cross the line
in pursuit of my dream

She turns surprised
Who crossed her line!
What a fool
he will only waste time

It is I!
I stand and proclaim my love.
She shuns me away
She pushes, she shoves.

She takes two steps back,
then once again impedes my path
but now with a wall
an infinite glass stall

And then I fall
I see the ground approaching
But I do not break my fall
For I see it just
That such great love
brings such a great fall

I struggle to my knees
and lean upon the glass
I stare at her beauty
She passes not a glance

I look at the ground between us
the two steps I'll never tread
I'M ONLY TWO STEPS AWAY
might as well be dead.

I look to the stars and cry,
"WHY SUCH PAIN!"
The wind howls with me
as I feel a cold rain

I run out of breath
as I lower my gaze
to her beautiful eyes

I stare in contempt
at this stupid guard
I know there is no gate
so down I sit
Here, is where I will wait.
