From Your Broken Doll

Burning tears
Like acid down my cheeks
Choking on your lies
Suffocated by your betrayal
I don’t think I can go on
Because you were my air
Your were my everything
My life support
My one and only in time of need
But no one wants a broken toy
And that’s all I was… your toy
And once you take the covers off
You see the scars
Though I came clear with a warning label
You didn’t pay mind
Thought you could just return me
In so many pieces
What’s one more crack?
I thought my heart was gone
Turned to dust so many years ago
But you made me see
How much it could hurt

I had just commented on the need for warning labels on people in another poem..I see you get it.

Nice style..
Great work!

"Burning tears
Like acid down my cheeks"

wow. what a great way to start this poem. It is very sad, we never know how much it can hurt until we feel the hurt, I like the idea of this poem, the metaphor of a broken doll, and someone trying to return it. Ace work on this... keep it up! good poem.

Write on!
