Feathered man

Demons talons claw in the black night,

Feathered wings torn in mid flight,

what is this scene,

is there truly anything so serene?

I watched an angel die today,

Victim of that dark that hides away,

I watched as he was torn, burned, and ripped apart,

The only thing left when they were done was his heart.

Something to pure for the dark to devour,

something that saved him in a desperate hour,

The only thing good for the raven feathered man,

was the love in his life, just dark, yet she was his biggest fan.

She's in the corner crying now,

you can hear the desolate and painfull howl,

a lover torn apart, but how,

the tears remind me that the darkness is on the prowl.

I sit in my room, geared for war,

aware of the wolves that wait outside the door,

for I am the fallen that went to light,

I was saved the very same night.

For that Fallen was my father,

cast aside but never forgot,

forsaken by those most dear,

but never given the leisure to rot.

His pain is mine,

and mine is his,

for I am a father now too,

and life is what it is.

I wait outside the door,

protecting what I love most.

My family awaits me,

for when I'm done at my post.

I survived now,

daylight has came,

the darkness is gone,

all that's left is the sad rain.

Forgiveness was given,

to that fatefull feathered man,

his fear drove him,

but not to a slaughter like the lambs.

No, his fear for his family drove him to fight,

unfortunately he just picked the wrong night.
