Either Way Didn't Matter In The End
I use to say what was on my mind all the time and with high hopes too.
But all that changed when I met you.
Everytime I told you what I felt, you would shoot me down.
After awhile it was a "shh!" game when I really wanted to ask if you even wanted me around.
There might have been bite marks on my tongue from all the things I never said.
I just assumed blood in the mouth was better than tears on my bed.
I learned to swallow the words and questions that were on the tip of my tongue.
I was too young, too naive to know communication was key.
Just too young.
After awhile holding back or letting go didn't matter anyway.
Because in the end you still left me.
