darkness
It’s not the darkness in my heart or the pain I carry in my soul that separates us
We don’t have time or distance between us
And we are lucky enough to have fate working for us
Yet and still what little love I though we had does not flourish
Because a past that is not my own holds what we have
A love enslaved in a trap that consumes all it has to offer
It’s not the darkness in my heart or the pain I carry in my soul that separates us
But it’s the darkness of my skin that holds this love in a bind
