I sing and dance for one audience pretending that we don't need love.
I spin in circles and scream to the sky because Crystal Lynn stole your heart away.
Eggshells crack beneath our feet,
Glass shatters when it breaks,
And bodies bleed when skin is torn.
We can't soar like eagles
or run through wide open fields chasing butterflies like playful kittens.
Fish hardly ever walk on land
and I'm sure pigs will never fly either.
People love and forget that everything else exsists.
We leave the ones who always held our heads while we cried
for one person who will leave us behind one day.
But we mistake this for a fairytale.
Once upon a time you swore you would never leave me behind
but the rules and boundaries of this place changed your mind.
And if I may quote what you said...
"It's not that I don't care anymore;
It's that no matter how much I care, there's nothing I can do about it."
We had bad timing, you said.
We can try again when our timing is better
Because even if you forget it's there;
my heart is always in your hands.
I see now that I got worked up in my feelings.
Dreams of king and queen happy forever in a castle hazed over my reality perception.
You found a new princess, a new lady, a new queen.
You can be her knight while I sit in the crowd and wait for your memory to come back.
I'll wait for Father Time to hand you the key to my heart again.
Because I'm the court fool and I would do anything for you to smile;
even though Crystal Lynn stole your heart.
