Almost There
I'm here, in the desert, walking in a straight line.
Every breeze brings the scent of your hair. Just a little further, almost there.
The sun is beating down on me, but all I can feel is the touch of your tender skin. Just a little further, almost there.
I close my eyes and I see your smiling face. Just a little further, almost there.
I'm a thousand miles from nowhere, and I can hear your voice, your laugh. Just a little further, almost there.
As I drop to my knees, surrounded by nobody, I cry to the heavens "Why can't I get there?!" Just a little further, almost there.
The sun sets behind me, the cold air begins to surround me, and yet I can still feel your warm embrace. I guess I haven't gone far enough to forget you.
Just a little further, almost there.
