....

Loneliness bites like the cold you feel
Sleeping in winter cold with the window down
It stings and it cripples until no one knows
What ever, what ever happened to that lonesome old man...

'I'm a young boy' he says
'With no father and no mother'
'I sleep with all the lights on,
To make sure no monster comes to get me'

And you cry, cry, cry... for all the pity left behind.
For all the love you once had,
When you were a child, an innocent soul
When you ran free of shame, and laughed and smiled
That irrestible charm of precious youth...
Cry, because you know it's all gone away...

Well I said what i had to say
Regret every word of it, and its the truth
I did what I had to do, to take care of myself
Cry for every shameful moment i waste in thought

'I'm a waste!' she says
'A complete waste...'
And no lie from lips will dare make its stand....
For comforts sake, you live alone in misery..
And who are you pleasing in your pain?

no one....

And who really cares anymore?

no one....

hmm, good. i can't quite put my finger on how but it's good (no sarcasm intended). Has an eerie quality to it that I like and I'm not quite sure what it's about but it kind of gives me a feeling... if that makes any sense. One of those poems you've got to read a couple of times and try to figure it out.
