Jack and Jill by Gary R. Hess

As you might have guessed, this poem is a bit of a change from "Jack and Jill." Hopefully you find this version a wee bit more funny and entertaining. Of course, it's not really meant for kids.

"Jack and Jill"

Jack and Jill went up the hill
  To catch a glimpse of heaven;
Jack fell down, and broke his crown,
  And Jill cried soon after.

The modern version
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
Up Jack got, and home did trot,
As fast as he could caper,
To old Dame Dob, who patched his nob
With vinegar and brown paper.
