Commonly Misspelled Words for Poetry
Many people commonly misspell words associated with poetry and its authors. For some, this is an outrage. I have at times made the mistake of spellings specific words incorrectly. Nonetheless, I learn from my mistakes and hopefully you will too.
So here is a list of common misspellings:
Peotry = Poetry
Peom = Poem
Peoms = Poems
Qoute = Quote
Qouted = Quoted
Qoutes = Quotes
Rhymme = Rhyme
Edgar Allen Poe = Edgar Allan Poe
Rythem / Rythim / Rythm / Rythym = Rhythm
Mispelled = Misspelled
Amature = Amateur
Radify = Ratify
Realy = Really
Recieve = Receive
Beleave = Believe
Loev / Lvoe / Lveo = Love
Liscense = License
Definately = Definitely
Accomodate = Accommodate
Cemetary = Cemetery
Jewlery/Jewlrey = Jewellery (British)/Jewelery (American)
Liason = Liaison
Priveledge = Privilege
Your/You're = Your shows possession. You're is a contraction of you and are.
Then/Than = Then shows time. Than shows comparison.
Lose/Loose = Lose is to fail or shed. Loose is to make less tight.
To/Too/Two = To is a particle used to mark the following verb as infinitive. Too is to agree with. Two is a number.
Where/We're/Were = Where is used when speaking of a place. We're is a contraction of we and are. Were is the past tense of be.
